For many years, Gino D’Acampo has been keeping to himself a secret ingredient…..his talent as a songwriter. Influenced by great writers such as The Eagles and John Mayer, and the music his father would listen to - Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.

 

Gino has been spending his spare time cooking up some tasteful songs, and although he enjoys singing, he has always known that he wouldn’t be the one to sing his own songs, and has been on a quest to find someone else to be, as he says, “the perfect voice for my thoughts and for my heart”.

 

After spending the lockdown periods scouring the internet for ‘the voice’, by chance he came across Scott Wilkes. With a bit of Harry Styles, Michael Bublé and a touch of Country all rolled into one, Gino thought that not only did Scott have the voice, but also the looks to match.

 

Scott, who hails from Halesowen (West Midlands), grew up singing in a band with his brothers, playing local pubs, clubs and holiday camps. 

 

Gino got in touch and started to pray that Scott would be happy to sing his songs. Not knowing what to expect, Scott was naturally curious, and upon hearing the songs, he was simply blown away.

 

Gino and Scott have been working on Scott’s debut album, and to whet your appetite are releasing a 5 song EP, aptly named “First Five Ingredients” (Released 10th February 2023 across all digital and streaming platforms including itunes, Spotify and Amazon) with Scott’s debut album “Me and My Guitar” following on one month later (Released 10th March 2023).

 

In a world exclusive, Gino introduced Scott on ITV1’s This Morning on Valentine’s Day 2023. 

 

Gino compares songwriting to creating recipes, starting with a few simple ingredients and then being inspired from then on. Gino also says he now feels the pressure of not wanting to let Scott down - looking upon him as “a fourth child”.
